Ryder Boats was founded in 2009 by Richard Ryder and his daughter, Belle Ryder, to market and sell the new line of Presto boats. The Prestos are manufactured by Union River Boat Company (founded in 1994 by Richard and his wife Patricia).

Richard Ryder

Richard Ryder is the founder and president of Ryder Boats, LLC and Union River Boat Company, Inc. Richard has been building boats since leaving the Coast Guard in 1974. Richard has (among other things): built juniper fishing dories; led a four-man crew building and installing cabinetry for Hinckley Yachts; led the construction of a custom 93’ composite sailing yacht for Able Marine; and built a reputation for quality, innovation, and accuracy that is un-paralleled.

Richard and Patricia, have three daughters and three grandchildren and live in Bucksport, ME.

Belle Ryder

Belle Ryder is the founder and vice-president of Ryder Boats, LLC and the Operations Manager of Union River Boat Company. Belle worked for Union River Boat Company during the summer of 1994 as her father’s first employee. She subsequently earned her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maine in 1998. After a brief career as a sales engineer for industrial chemicals and non-destructive testing equipment she returned to Union River Boat Company in 2003.

Belle and her husband, Matt Drinkert, have three children and live in Bucksport, ME.
